Seeing Daddy Off

Yesterday Bradley took the train down to Heidelberg for two big days of rehearsal for the Elijah performances this Saturday and Sunday. Danika and I got to see him off. We are able to drive up on the other side of the tracks and watch until the train comes. We look forward to meeting up again in Tübingen where the campers meet to get on the big bus down to Spain. That is only three days away!

The Musical Mission Team

Doreen took these pictures while the team was here for two days. They gave a concert here in our church the first night, in the nursing home we minister in the next morning, and then were in Halberstadt the rest of the second day. There they were able to sing in a mall and in a rented hall in the evening. We enjoyed good fellowship with them, and thank the Lord for several unsaved people who came to our service, and for many that attended the Halberstadt concert. We pray that the Lord will give eternal fruit from this ministry.

A few Glimpses from Gemeindetag

For the last year, or so, we have been meeting for a special day of church fellowship on the fifth Sunday of a month, as often as they occur. June was such a month and Doreen took a few pictures of our time together. These days are often long for the little ones, and Danielle dropped off as soon as we started home. :)

Kevin's Birthday

A cute Father-Daughter shot with Danae. :) Kevin and his youngest son, Evan, blew out the candles together. Much to Evan's surprise and delight he got to blow them out over and over again. If you want to know Kevin's age, you will have to enlarge the picture of the cake. :)

A Sad Farewell

Thursday was the last day of school. Danika was always Miss Amber's first student of the day. That evening 37 of us said good-bye - amongst tears - to our dear Miss Amber. The next morning we picked Amber up shortly before 6 a.m. to drive to Berlin where she took the plane back to the States that Dalene and Danae had just arrived on. It was a very strange mix of emotions! We have missed her so much already!

The Departure

By this time we all decided we should go. Everyone was wet and cold. Devon got us a drink to share. On our way out of the park we were greeted by the park mascot! :) Danielle was amazed at her soaked shoes! :)

The Second Storm

After 20 minutes we heard the roller coaster start up again, so we headed there and stood in line. We were getting close to the front, when the call came in that all rides were to be stopped, another storm was coming, and all guests needed to find shelter. Well, we didn't get to the shelter before getting well-drenched again. We whiled a way our time at the tables of an eating establishment. The kids kept busy. :) Devon treated everyone to French fries, and the hat was a winner while we waited for the storm to pass.

A Second Attempt after Lunch

The park was opened up again after about an hour, so we walked down into the only "ride" available at first...the kett-cars. The kids had a lot of fun here, as drivers and as spectators. The seats were adjustable, allowing even Donovan to take a turn!

The Older Side of Things

Miss Amber and Doreen enjoying the rides together. Devon and Donia made up the second "team". It started raining right before we were to meet for lunch, By the time we all met a full-fledged storm with a green sky line had descended on us! We were drenched, and huddled together for our picnic lunch. This was the entrance baloon as we entered in the morning. By the time we left the storm had torn the balloon down.

A Special Outing with Miss Amber

Bradley was down in Heidelberg the day we went to an amusement park about an hour and fifteen minutes away. We got in shortly after 10 a.m.. We posed for a joint picture at the park map, and then split up until lunch time. This cute little ferris wheel was propelled by Donovan and me. :) Danika wasn't sure about this ride at all! This boot ride was pretty tame until we got to the cave! We sang our way through there. :)

Germany's One Opportunity to Show Patriotism

This year during the European Soccer Championship Germany became colorful again and flags popped up everywhere. Due to our past here, Germans are very sensitive about the subject of patriotism, but soccer allows them an excuse so to speak. We enjoy cheering along with them.

My Flower Girl

Our little Danika loves flower and frequently decorates our home with them. On this particular evening she spread the rose petals all over our entrance steps. What a pretty welcome!
