Dustin turns 9
We thank the Lord for the wonderful blessing Dustin has been to our family. Yesterday we enjoyed cinnamon rolls (his reqeust) together. His lunch date with Daddy was postponed until supper, because we had company for several hours in the afternoon. Danielle is always happy to pose, too. :)

Danika's Heritage Project
Mr. Gorbachev, please don't tear down this wall!
Devon has worked for two months from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. (M-F) helping to build a stone wall for Kay, the farmer. Only the shingles on top that prevent moisture from getting into the stone work still have to be finished. Now that the wall is finished Devon is planning to tackle his junior year of high school. Built into the wall is a sandstone block with the words of Acts 16:31 carved into it, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved and thy house." That should raise the eyebrows of some of the townsfolk. Hopefully it will also raise someone's eyes toward God.

The Second Week of September!
Devon built a little goal for the kids to use with the mini-balls.
Dalene's friend Annette came up and spent a couple days of her vacation with us. On Thursday she turned 22! We enjoyed the excuse for a get-together. The plate of gummi-bears is a tradition that her family has kept. My kids were more than happy to help eat them at the party. :)
Friday night the teens enjoyed a couple hours of games and snacks. Donia and Annette had made preacher cookies and chocolate chip cookies earlier in the afternoon.

Happy New School Year!
A Wonderful Afternoon between the Fields
Donovan told us that he was a corn stalk and his hands were the corn. :) Perhaps we should mention that the corn cobs were taken only from stalks that the children found broken and lying flat on the ground where two fields meet, apparently knocked down by the wheat harvester.
We all loved being outside on this very warm afternoon. The field corn was vibrant, the harvested fields were beautiful for running across. and the wind was wonderful.
